Manchester City Guide for FM16

Brief History

After their glory years of the 1950s and 60s, with the talents of Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee and Franny Lee among others Manchester City suffered what was the best part of 40 years of decline, the only team to win the English First Division and get relegated from it the next season. City were also the last team to be crowned champions with a starting eleven of only English players, having just one foreigner in Scot Bobby Kennedy.

City slowly spiraled down the footballing ladder and finally succumb to relegation for English football's top flight in 1996, they went down to the Third Division in 1998 but managed a dramatic play off promotion after a late Paul Dickov equalizer and Nicky Weaver's penalty heroics. Another promotion followed but Joe Royle failed to keep City up in the 2000/01 of the Premier League and was replaced by the much loved Kevin Keegan who with the likes of Ali Benarbia, Shaun Goater, Eyal Berkovic and Stuart Pearce gave the City faithful one of their best seasons for a long while.

City managed to establish themselves as a lower mid table side until Sheikh Mansour's arrival meant that Thaksin Shinawatra's 12 month reign came to end amid rumours of money laundering within the club, as City were close to administration. Their first major honour in 35 years soon followed when the FA Cup returned to Manchester and then City's second league title in 44 years.

As the Manchester City establishes itself as a global brand there is a growing expectation on the club each year, and with another big spending summer which saw the talents of Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, Nicolas Otamendi and Fabian Delph join the club the Citizens look once again to regain their Premier League crown and better their Round of 16 finish in the Champions League over the last two seasons.

Due to Financial Fair Play restrictions in the game the transfer budget remains at £0, you can try asking for more although it is unlikely that the board will bow to your request. The wage budget can be increased in your expectations or by asking the board. It is due to this that I would advise you to as the board to remove the philosophy of signing high profile players for the first team. As shown below;

Expectations and Budget

Here is your list of expectations and how your wage budget changes;

The media predicts a 2nd placed finish behind Chelsea in the table, and you have 5/2 odds of winning the title. The exact same as Chelsea, as seen below;

Strongest Tactics

4-3-3

This first tactic is one I have found to be useful with most teams over this Football Manager and the previous version. The striker will drift wide and deeper as the wingers tuck in slightly, the defensive midfielder will sit much deeper than the rest of the team like a centre back. This allows the central midfielders to push much further forward, acting almost as attacking midfielders as they push forward. The high line pushes the opposition back, condensing them with attacking force. This tactic can be prone to yellow cards and counter attacking goals though, so it would be wise to watch your card count and turn off the ''get stuck in'' command every now and then.

Mentality: Attacking

Team Shape: Fluid

4-2-3-1

The next I have is a standard 4-2-3-1, which aims to get the best out of Sergio Aguero. With a heavily possession based style, with the basic aim to soak up opposition pressure and then wear them down with patient passing, whilst mixing in a few counter attacks. The left side will push further up with Aleksandar Kolarov of Gael Clichy often overlapping and Pablo Zabaleta or Bacary Sagna sitting deeper and letting Raheem Sterling or Jesus Navas do most of the attacking on the right. David Silva drops into a deeper role closer to the left. Fernando will sit much deeper, again being the anchor man in midfield, with Yaya Toure being the main distributor of the ball. The flanks are used a lot, so good wide players are important.

Default Squad Analsyis and Potential Strengthening

With a world class squad Manchester City is a club with no shortage of quality. But there are weaknesses, here is the positional analysis for the default first team squad;

Goalkeepers
Joe Hart is of course a fantastic keeper, and is and easy first choice. Willy Caballero is fairly solid backup, but should have a transfer offer from Fiorentina.

Whether you choose to accept this is up to you, but due to the lack of good goalkeepers in the reserve I would recommend signing of Geronimo Rulli in January of your first season for free due to his contract expiring in the summer of 2016. Or you could sign Predgrag Rajkovic of Maccabi Tel-Aviv, I advise you to loan him back to his club due to him not being able to qualify for a work permit.

Defenders
The defence is solid, but old. Especially in the full back position. With Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov all 29 or older it's worth looking at some younger full backs for the future. Sagna is good for at least a season, and Zabaleta for two or three.

Eric Dier is a great option if you can afford him, he also ups the English quota in the squad. A good alternative to Dier is Leeds' Sam Byram, who is another good young option who is also English and is a snip at just £7,000,000 (but if you choose not to include a loan back to Leeds until the end of the season you may have to pay slightly more). A great left back option is Tottenham's Danny Rose, another Englishman who is fairly young (25) and a player who I have found personally to be a brilliant left back this year and you can get him for as little as £12,500,000. A slightly cheaper option is Mattia de Sciglio, but you'll have to act fast in order to sign as he's usually snapped up by one of the bigger clubs quickly, you can sign him for around £9,000,000.

The centre back area is one of great strength for City, with one of the world's best defenders in Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi who is well equipped to go straight into the team, Eliaquim Mangala who can become at least a good squad player and Martin Demichelis who should be good backup for a season or two.

As well as the current first team crop there is Cameron Humphreys, Jason Denayer and Tosin Adarabioyo for the future, another centre back to look out for at River Plate is Emmanuel Mammana, who is available for around £4,000,000 in the first season and can develop into on of the world's best centre backs in FM16.

Midfielders
With Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Fernando Reges, Fabian Delph, Bruno Zuculini, David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne already in the first team squad, there is no shortage of quality in City's first team engine room. You may choose to sell on some of these players, you should get an offer from Paris Saint Germain for Fernando in your first season. They will go as high as a non negotiable offer of £21,500,000 of course whether you accept is up to you. In terms of bringing players in there isn't a real need to buy, what with the likes of Manu Garcia, Olivier Ntcham and Sinan Bytyqi in the reserve team and Brahim Diaz in the under 18s as well Toure and Fernandinho (32 and 30 respectively) still able to play another two seasons as regulars.

Wingers
The flanks are a hit and miss area, Raheem Sterling is fantastic mostly and Jesus Navas provides good competition on the right also. Kevin de Bruyne also provides moments of magic but can go missing at times. Due to the fact that there is also Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva in his position and he is valued at £32,500,000 at the start of the save, has interest from Real Madrid, and if you transfer list him Liverpool, as well as being 28 years old Samir Nasri is a good source of money if you can get a bid for him.

Brandon Barker can become a great winger so keep an eye on him in your Under 21s team, but other than him there is little quality in the youth teams on the winger front.

If you can raise enough money then Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo is a great buy and at 21 is good for the future and Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus is another quality option who can often become unhappy at Borussia Dortmund do to not playing in the Champions League.

Strikers
Any position with Sergio Aguero in is going to be strong, add to this Wilfried Bony and you have to quality frontman. But with only two strikers (three if you count Kelechi Iheanacho from the Under 21s team) it would be a good idea to look around for one more striker who can play backup.

Two good options are Charlie Austin (available for £10,500,000 in the first season or for free in January if you're prepared to wait until the second season and sign him on a pre contract. As mentioned above Domenico Berardi is a fantastic player this year and is also natural in the striker position. Enes Unal is also good when he returns from his two season loan at Genk, Stevan Jovetic may also take your fancy when he returns from his loan at Inter Milan the same summer (2017).

As mentioned earlier Kelechi Iheanacho is a brilliant prospect and Thierry Ambrose is another good frontman for the future along with Enes Unal.

Summary

As I hope you can see. Manchester City boasts more of a challenge than meets the eye, with a quality squad that you can improve by bringing in some younger players. Brilliant youth facilities, some rather great prospects and players you can sell on to generate funds.

There's plenty to do to make your Manchester City save fun and challenging, I hope this article gave you some good advice for a save with City.

Can you become the dominant force in English football?

ATW16 Over 230 Leagues Megapack for FM16 by Sangue Blu

Around The World Project Explained

  • New playable countries, leagues and clubs across the world.

  • Large leagues - 20 teams in highest division, 24 teams in lower divisions (if as many clubs exist).

  • Each league with 13 awards: player of the week, manager of the month, team of the season, etc down to 4th tier.

  • 2 transfer windows, loaning throughout the year, 14 year old newgens.

  • No specific disciplinary rules, job permissions, no restrictions, no winter/summer break, 6 of 12 substitutes, league sorting rules, 4 relegations and one play-off (usually).

  • Removed clubs which are second teams (for example: "II", "B", "(..) academy", "(...) U18"), distinct leagues for reserves/U18/universities/schools, removed age limits in many clubs also restored a lot of non existing clubs.

  • Created leagues for reserves and U18 based and depended on major leagues.

  • TV broadcast for highest divisions, income from TV rights and positions in league.

  • Slightly changed transfer preferences in many countries in the world.

  • Created national cups and supercups (if not existed).

  • Removed other cups: league cups, tournaments, all-stars games and remaining leagues which are not subordinate to the main tiers.

  • Original names for leagues and cups with title sponsors (some lower leagues may be non original).

It is not compatible with many other league related databases! If errors occur, clean the editor data folder from other league files and paste the files from this add-on only. Also make sure that your FM16 is updated to the latest version.

Recommended options at the start of the game:
  • Do Not Use Real Fixtures
  • Add Players to Playable Teams

Changes compared to FM15 version

  • added reserves and young teams (U18) based on the major leagues
  • corrected transfer dates
  • changed substitutes from 3 of 5 to 6 of 12
  • changed descriptions to be more readable and understandable

It seems that this year there is no limit but some of the files collide with each other so I recommend using about 88 files. I would be grateful for help in detecting faulty files.

Collection of panels and graphics tweaks by Wannachupbrew.
Anything included in this skin can be used in other skins as long as credit is given.

This skin is designed for 1920x1080 resolution. It should work with other resolutions but I don't test every single panel with every possible resolution. If you're using a different resolution and something doesn't display correctly please post your resolution and a screenshot of the issue and I'll do my best to fix it. However, I will NOT fix issues related to using different zoom levels. If you use any zoom level other than 100% you will have problems.

Key Features

- Instant Result Button
- Background Selector
- TV Logo Selector
- Various totally overhauled screens

Leicester City Guide for FM16

Brief History

Leicester City, also known as The Foxes are in the limelight at the moment, they are flying high in the Premier League and have an on fire Striker in record breaker Jamie Vardy. They are my club and one I have supported since I was 7 years old (I’m now 35).

Leicester don’t have the richest history, their most successful period came in the late 90s early 00s where under Martin O’Neill he guided them to 3 consecutive top 10 finishes in the Premier League and 3 League Cup final visits, 2 in which they won. Now under Claudio Ranieri (or you if you take the challenge) they have a squad and the finances in place ready for a push up the Premier League and hopefully add to their mediocre trophy count

Club Overview
As you can see from the screenshots below Leicester City are “Rich” as they have a sugar daddy Thai owner, they also have a good % of Season ticket holders (23k) to their ground capacity (32k). Their league history has ups and down, but now they are definitely on their way back up!

Finances and Budgets

Depending on how confident you are in your ability you can change the expectation. The board expect a minimum in the league of “Avoiding Relegation” but you can if you wish change this to “Mid table finish” or “Top half finish”. You can also change your expectations in the cup competitions, below I have done 3 screens, one the lowest expectation, one the middle and one the highest, transfer budgets vary on these from £9.3m - £13m

The Squad

Leicester’s squad is pretty good for a team expected to fight relegation, if you compare them to other teams in the league they come out on average in the middle, here is the team comparison page

As you can see when it comes to Work Rate they are ranked 1st but come 20th when it comes to First Touch and Passing. Obviously this is an average of the whole playing squad, Leicester do have some good passers in their squad as you will see below.

Goalkeepers

Leicester have 2 very good Goalkeepers, obviously Schwarzer is getting on and will more than likely retire at the end of the season but with Schmeichel you have a very good standard Goalkeeper for the Premier League.

Defenders

Leicester’s defense is OK, Liam Moore is one to watch as he is young and has good potential, if you train and tutor him right he can become a major player for the team, he is however out on loan for the first season. Fuchs at Left Back is quality and possesses 17 for long throws, this can be deadly on FM16.

One area you could think of improving is at CB. Leicester have a few average Centre Backs, Alvaro Balanta is one CB you could sign, he is amazing on FM16 as most people know

Midfielders

Leicester's midfield is very good, Inler is a fantastic holding midfielder but also can play higher up and in my 1st season he scored a couple of long range belters! The 2 main players I feel in midfield are Danny Drinkwater and Riyad Mahrez.

Drinkwater is a fantastic playmaker and train him right he can become a leading premier league midfielder, it’s not uncommon for him to get England call-ups on FM. He possesses some great PPMs and has all the attributes to control a match when required

Mahrez is fantastic on FM, his dribbling skills are second to none, I tried him as a Raumdeuter on my save and he was incredible, he can play anywhere in the attacking midfield, but for me he is best served on the Right.

If you want to improve the midfield then the Left Wing could be one to concentrate on,yes they have Strikers like Okazaki and Kramaric who are good on the left but if you want a Winger then Jefferson Montero from Swansea is usually available on either a transfer or on loan

Forwards

Leicester have some very good forwards at their disposal, all with very different qualities. Ulloa is a very good strong target man, whereas Okazaki and Kramaric are hardworking and skillful. But the main man as in real life is Jamie Vardy. He has all the skills to run that line either as a lone striker or in a pair with one of the others.

Youth

To be honest Leicester don’t have the best youth players to start with but here are 4 of the best. Choudhury can be trained into a really good holding midfielder, but he requires game time and with the numerous midfielders you already have that could be hard work. Johnson although down as Rb for his best position is best served being trained as CB. Tom Lawrence will be a really good AM/AP if you train him right and Ben Chilwell could be a good LB in the future

So you have now seen the squad but what tactics should you employ?

Strongest Formations

A quick disclaimer I am not good at creating tactics, but these are the best 2 formation that you could use for Leicester City

4-4-2

442 is a hard tactic to master on FM16 but this is the tactic that firstly Nigel Pearson and now Claudio Ranieri uses in real life

Player roles are hard to work out in a 442 but Drinkwater as DLP will be able to control the game and if you can get the best out of Mahrez and Vardy your right hand side could be deadly. With this formation you need to get them working as a unit, defending in 2 blocks of 4 and trying to hit the front 2 as quick as possible.

4-1-2-2-1 / 4-3-3

This is the tactic I used with Leicester and it worked well for me, in FM16 3 in midfield seems to be most people's preferred formation

Both Fuchs and De laet are naturally attacking full backs so having the holding midfielder is a must and Inler is fantastic at that job, this frees up the other 2 midfielders to venture forward and control the game. I said earlier Mahrez played under me as a Raumdeuter but on here I have him as an Inside Forward, this is because you could easily make it so your wide players swap over during the game. I have Albrighton on the Left Wing but like I said before you have numerous more attacking options as well

Like I say these are what I would use but there are many other formations you could use.

With Leicester attacking full backs you could play 3 CBs and have them as Wing Backs, if you trained Mahrez as an Attacking Midfielder then you could be a 4411 or 4231 as well. There are lots of options.

Summary

Leicester City are one hell of a challenge on FM16, they have the potential to be a big club, they have the fan base and they have the backing; now they just need a manager to take them there, can they get to the very top? I wish you all the luck in the world!

Football Manager 2016 Trophies Megapack UPDATED

I am proud to announce a huge breakthrough in Football Manager 2016. Trophies.

We always wanted more and we can now have Real Trophies for all nations in the game.
IMHO this is massive as we have always wanted more than the handful of trophies Sports Interactive provided.

The whole pack has now had a complete overhaul, all images have been re-sized, all cuts have been tidied up or replaced plus new Trophies added.
It is for this reason the old links have been removed and replaced with one new one, I recommend anyone who downloaded the original to download again to make sure you have the best pack possible and delete the old previous version.

The whole pack has now reached over 238 Trophies.

If you want to add to the pack feel free.
Look for the trophies which are missing and cut them out (if you can).
I have some cutting skills but would rather not do it myself.

Huge thanks to the following for their contributions to the pack:
Hammer9, Patres10 and Nuno Rebelo and me of course.

Thanks,
DazS8

EDIT
As Updates seem to confuse some people somewhat, I have instead Updated the red Download button
with the whole new pack.

Swansea Guide for FM16

$

So you’ve decided you’re interested in taking over Swansea? The small South Wales city boasts an impressive rise to the Premier League, but now they’re ready to take it to the next level, are you capable of helping them do just that?

Recent History

By 2005, there was a new air of optimism at the club as they prepared to leave the Vetch Field after more than 90 years to move into the new purpose-built Liberty Stadium. The move from the Vetch was completed in style with the club securing promotion to League One. Further progress in 2007/08 saw the club promoted, as Champions, to the Football League – Coca Cola Championship.

The following three seasons saw the Club improve its league position year on year, despite having a new manager each season! In May 2011, 40,000 “Jacks” saw the Swans beat Reading 4-2 in the Championship Play Off Final at Wembley to return to the top flight of the English Pyramid for the first time in 30 years.

Finishing a creditable 11th in its first season in the Premier League, the Swans had yet another change of manager with the legendary Dane, Michael Laudrup taking charge of the Club in May 2012, for its second Premier League season. The season proved one of the most successful in the Club’s history with a top ten finish and the Club’s first “major” trophy – the League Cup.

Budgets

So you’re transfer budget isn’t huge, I admit that, but there’s players in the squad that you could potentially look to sell before making investment.

The Squad – Overview

Goalkeepers

With Polish international Lukasz Fabianski at the club, your search for a starter goalkeeper ends here. Fabianski is more than good enough to start in goal for you in your first season.
Kristoffer Nordfeldt offers a suitable option off the bench, I encourage you to play him in cup games and to give Fabianski a rest.

Central Defenders

You’re spoilt for choice when you look to central defence. Club captain Ashley Williams provides you with a formidable back line, commanding the whole defence to make sure everybody knows their roles. Federico Fernandez offers you a great partner to Ashley Williams, with Bartley and Amat providing great cover off the bench.

Full Backs

Your full backs could do with some extra back up, Kyle Naughton is good enough to start in your first year at Right Back, but you could potentially look at a backup replacement for Rangel. If you can find a good enough youngster add Rangel to the transfer list and bring someone new in.
Neil Taylor provides a great option at left back but with a lack of a backup in that position signing a new back up left back should be high on your list of priorities.

Central Midfield

You’re blessed to have 3 top quality midfielders who can comfortably control the centre of the park. Shelvey, Cork and Ki provide you with a wide variety of skills. Not much improvement is needed here, although it is important to note that PSG will buy Ki Sung-Yeung for £20m in your first season.

Wingers

Wayne Routledge and Andre Ayew will give you good starting options for your first season, but in the long term you may look to replace Routledge. Emnes and Tabanou are more than likely not good enough for the future so consider shipping of Emnes and finding a suitable replacement.

Central Attacking Midfield

You have one player in Central Attacking Midfield, and that’s one of the best players at the club, Gylfi Sigurdsson. I suggest selling him, it may sound crazy but with some negotiating you can get £30m for Sigurdsson, this give you the funds to sign a replacement and have money left over to improve other positions.

Striker

Gomis and Eder make up your strike force, I’d suggest looking for another striker and possibly selling Gomis. He is known to blow hot and cold and with other options available you can hopefully pick someone up who can replace him.

My Transfers

Transfers Out

You’re going to need to sell some players to raise funds, below are my transfers after pre season.

We’ve sold some big players to raise funds, including selling South Korean midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung to Paris Saint-Germain for £15.5m, and Icelandic Gylfi Sigurdsson for £22.5m to Chelsea. Also we saw Leon Britton and Angel Rangel and Bafitimbi Gomis leaving the club, all together this gave us £40m to help improve the squad.

Transfers In

With the extra money I have been given, I’ve managed to sign some quality players for the team that will be starting in the first team this season.

Charlie Austin

Jack Grealish

Sandro

Sam Byram

Overall I am very happy with my transfers and I now have enough players to form a strong starting 11.

Tactics and Starting 11

A typical 4-2-3-1 suits this Swansea team down to a tee. With a strong back line and the signing of Sandro in midfield, you’re able to paly some risky attacking football and still be able to rely on your defence to come up trumps.

Your attacking force is formidable with quality in all areas on the field, the trickery and pace of Montero will give opposition defences headaches, wonderkid Jack Grealish should link up well with Charlie Austin up front and Andre Ayew is a force to be reckoned with on that right wing.

You should now have all the necessary information to take Swansea to the next level.

Football Manager enthusiasts, here you will discover the best players to loan in FM 2016.

    Around 400 players included.

    Released: Nov 5, 2015
    Updated: Dec 14, 2015

How did you pick players for this list?

Certain players are listed for loan from their clubs because they're either too young to feature in their first team and they still want first team playing time, or they're not in the manager's plans and the club wants to get rid of them for a season.

This list features the best FM16 players available for loan, some of them will already have the necessary quality for top flight clubs, others won't. For this list, I have two ratings for each player. CR reflects their current quality, while PR is an indication of how good the player can become in the future. CR is more important because you want your loanees to have instant impact to your team.

What does the rating (R) mean?

It's a personal recommendation system for your convenience. I'm using a 1-100 scale based on English divisions.
    81+ all-time elite player
    78-80 great player for premiership
    75-77 solid backup for premiership
    72-74 top player for championship
    68-71 solid backup for championship
    64-67 player for league one
    60-63 player for league two

    FAQ

I can't find all players of this list on my savegame. Why?

I loaded all players (330k+) in-game to produce this list of best FM16 player available for loan. Your savegame probably has less players loaded.

Where is the downloadable shortlist to import in-game?

Sorry, I don't have one. I used to share shortlists before, but people would steal them and post on other sites without my consent.

    Football Manager Competition Backgrounds

    $
    0
    0
Includes as many real trophy backgrounds as I could find along with my other competition backgrounds to make one pack of 2100 competition backgrounds.

All files are in PNG format hence the large 2.4GB file size.

Remember that you need a skin that supports custom backgrounds, so it won't work with the default skins.

Take a look below at a small selection of images included.

    Competition Backgrounds Preview

How to add competition backgrounds to FM16

    1. Download the pack and extract the file (using either 7-Zip for Windows or The Unarchiver for Mac).

    2. Place the Backgrounds folder in the following location;
      Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016\graphics\pictures\backgrounds
Create the folders "graphics", "pictures" and "backgrounds" if they don't exist.

    3. Go to Preferences > Interface screen in-game.
Make sure the option "use caching to decrease loading times' is unticked, then reload the skin.

    Klopp Gegenpressing FM15

    Hi all,

This is my attempt at recreating Jurgen Klopps style of football involving a high pressing, fast paced attacking game. I have used this tactic with Borussia Dortmund and so far (in late November at the minute) I am unbeaten in the Bundesliga sitting 1st. Have qualified out of my group in Europa league, with main blemish so far being an exit from the german cup at the hands of hoffenheim. I have attached relative screenshots of the tactic and results so far.

Training i use is fitness - high and match prep : match tactics in pre-season. With individual training on player roles/ new positions.
In season then i used balanced - average and match prep on att. movement or def. positioning depending on the caliber of opponent and if match is at home or away.

This tactic is high intensity and uses up player stamina leading to conceding goals later in matches, work on individual players stamina and also change round lineup to avoid player burnout.

    Brief History

Founded in 1871, Reading are a professional English club currently playing in the Syk Bet Championship. Reading narrowly avoided relegation from the second English tier. The club play their home games at The Madejski Stadium and possess superb training facillities and great youth facillities. The club’s training ground is Hogwood Park where the youth teams play.

Reading won the English 2nd tier in 2006 and 2012 and finished runners-up once. The 2015–16 season saw the departures of long serving players Adam Federici to Bournemouth, Alex Pearce to Derby and Jem Karacan to Galatasaray but the arrivals Stephen Quinn and Paul McShane from Hull City, Orlando Sa from Legia Warsaw and Jonathan Bond from newly promoted premier league side Watford.

The summer spending did not stop there, with Ali Al Habsi joining from recently relegated League 1 side Wigan, Paolo Hurtado from Pacos de Ferreira as well as Andrew Taylor and Álex Fernández coming in on loan. The club then signed Lucas Piazon on a season long loan deal just before the deadline day signings of winger Ola John from Benfica and striker Matej Vydra from Watford, both signings were also season long loan deals.

Reading Football Club ownership structure: 25% owned by GPT Football Investment Ltd and 25% owned by GPT UK Investment Ltd, which are both 100% owned by Narin Niruttinanon. 25% owned by RFC UK Investment Co Ltd, which is 100% owned by Sasima Srivikorn. 25% owned by Universal FICO Ltd, which is 100% owned by Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth.

    Finances & Budget

There are three different Transfer & Wage Budgets depending on expectations.

    Board Expectations and Media Prediction

    Championship – mid-table position
    FA Cup – Fourth Round
Capital One Cup – Third Round

Media prediction is that they will finished the first season at 14th place in the league.

    Strongest Tactic for default roster

I chose 4-3-3 as the best formation with the default roster. There are two full backs, one limited defender and central dender. Formation includes three central midfielders with these roles – Ball Winning Midfielder, Deep Lying Playmaker and Box To Box Midfielder. There are also two wingers and False Nine.

    Starting XI Positional Analysis

    Goalkeeper:
The club had to sign some new goalkeepers after the departure of Federici and Andersen. Reading signed Jonathan Bond and Al-Habsi. They are almost at the same level but the first choice should be Al-Habsi (33 years old).

    Full Backs:
Chris Gunter on the right side is the easiest choice because he is the only one typical right back in the team. You can choose from Jordan Obita and Andrew Taylor (on-loan) for the left side and I chose the younger player – Obita.

    Central defenders:
The typical CD is Paul McShane, the new club captain. The other one is Michael Hector who signed for Chelsea and he is on-loan in Reading. His best role is Limited Defender so if you will play other player there you can change it to Central Defender role. But it is not necessary because the young prospect Jake Cooper is great with this role as well.

    Central midfielders:
There are three different roles. Daniel Williams is great as a BWM with support duty, Álex Fernández is the best player for Deep Lying Playmaker role and Stephen Quinn as Box To Box Midfielder. If you can not play with Fernández you should play Norwood or Tshibola as a DLP.

    Wingers:
You should play Garath McCleary on the right side because he is very fast and he has great technique and crosses. On the left side is the place for Ola John who is considered as a key player for the team at the start of the save. Nick Blackman, Paolo Hurtado, Lucas Piazón and Hal Robson-Kanu (injured) could play at these positions as well.

    False Nine:
The best striker in the team is Matěj Vydra. Czech forward is on-loan in the club from Watford and his best role is False Nine. The potential replacements are Nick Blackman and Orlando Sá (injured) or Simon Cox. But the last one is not good enough in my eyes.

There are some very good young players in the squad which could be a very useful. For example – defender Shane Griffin, midfielders Tariqe Fosu and Liam Kelly and strikers Dominic Samuel, Harry Cardwell and Andrija Novakovich.

    Weaknesses and Potential Strengthening

The biggest weakness is the central midfield area in my eyes. If you want to play with three central midfielders there are not many repleacements if there will be injuries or players will be suspended. So if I start the new save with Reading I would want to sign some central midfielders.

Other issue is that there are many players on-loan so you will have to make a decent amount of signings and changes after the first season.

    Summary

There are very good players in the first team and talented young players in the youth teams or on-loan. This save could be very interesting because the board expectations are not really high and I’m sure that you could win a promotion place with this squad straight in the first season. The club's philosophy is "Develop players using the club's youth system" and if you love to play with young players this could be an ideal save for you.
