Football Manager 2015 New Features

$

0
Sports Interactive have confirmed only a handful of facts regarding Football Manager 2015 so far, most important one being that FM15 will be released in November. In previous years we used to have the announcement revealing at least the key new features of the next FM version during July or August. This time, Miles Jacobson announced in late May that we won't have any information on FM15 til October.

SI had been busy though, not only with the next FM but with another exciting project as well: The Football Manager Documentary. Featuring contributions from some of FM's creators and famous fans from the worlds of football and entertainment, "An Alternative Reality: The FM Documentary" will examine the game's enduring appeal and how it has seeped into and influenced the culture of the world's favorite game and is made by Film Nova, one of Britain's leading independent sports producers.

FM Documentary is a 70 mins movie that will be screened in cinemas around UK (and in selected places around EU) for the first time on Tuesday, October 7th. The FM15 new features video, out on that day (after the documentary at cinemas & on Twitch) is a whopping 27 mins.

Miles Jacobson:
Our target is having at least a thousand new features in the game every year... but we'll only do that if there are good ideas that we still want to keep adding in.

Published: 25 September
Updated: 4 October

We'll be updating this page whenever there is new information to be added.

Significant FM 2015 highlights:

  • Twitch integration - confirmed
  • Voice chat and video to come in further patches - confirmed
  • In-depth managerial style when starting new save - speculation
  • Largest database ever including over 580.000 players and staff - confirmed
  • An improved 3D Match Engine - speculation
  • More realistic transfers and contracts - speculation
  • An enhanced user interface - speculation

FMonline Forum, an hotblooded italian FM community, is proud to release the FMonline Forum FM14 Transfers Update DB, a new transfers database which is divided into 3 files:
  • FMonline Forum FM14 Transfers Update DB
  • Wonderkids
  • FarOer 1430 *updated, now you can start on 28/5/2014

In the Transfers Update you'll have transfers updated on 4/10, managerial changes, board changes, some players and staff created, and more.
With the Wonderkids file you can have access to the most talented young players and to some skills changes, based on the season.
The FarOer 1430 file gives you the opportunity to start the game on 28/5/2014 (can use in combination to the Real Fixtures & Results)

List of Changes:
  • Trasfers of player and staff updated on 4/10
    New Wonderkids
    Created missing players/staff
Skills and roles as been updated
    Injuries updated
    Erased duplicated players
    Updated CA & PA

INFO:
All the players which are going to be released by the clubs, will see the contract expired on 31/7. The reason of this is because if you start from May 2014, all the contract that are ending on 30/6 will take an automatic renew.
We have fixed some transfers to avoid the failure of the negotiations (like ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo to Barcelona)
All these files are compatible with all the products made by FMonline Forum
The Transfers Update, with the last version, will be compatible with an all new FMonline Forum Exclusive, that will be released very soon!

We, an hotblooded italian FM community, have created the real fixtures and results of:
  • Spain: Liga BBVA, Liga Adelante
  • Netherlands: Eredivise
  • France: Ligue 1, Ligue 2, National
  • Germany: Bundesliga, Zweite Liga, 3.Liga
  • Italy: Serie A, Serie B, Lega Pro Prima Divisione, Lega Pro Seconda Divisione
  • Portugal: Liga ZON Sagres, Liga2 Cabovisao
  • Russia: SOGAZ Prem'er Liga
  • Ukraine: Prem'er Liha
  • England: Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two
  • Denmark: Superligaen
  • Wales: Premier League, stagione regolare
  • Australia: A-League, stagione regolare
  • Turkey: Super Lig
  • Greece: Souper Ligka Ellada
  • Scotland: Scottish Premiership, Championship, League 1, League 2
  • Switzerland: Raiffeisen Super League
  • Austria: tipp3-Bundesliga
  • Gibraltar: Prima Divisione
  • Polonia: T-Mobile Ekstraklasa
  • Croatia: 1.HNL
  • Belgium: Jupiler Pro league
  • Romania: Liga I

INFOS:
The results of Cups, Playoffs and Playouts are random; *some championships
Parma has a 2 points deduction so they can't go in Europa League
If these files are used without starting from future dates, only the fixtures will be loaded. I suggest to use the FarOer 1430 file from the FMonline Forum FM14 Transfers Update DB.
We have assigned a 100 points deduction to Siena and Padova for the 13/14 and 14/15 seasons to make them relegate (they failed to enroll to their series)

Versione 1.5 Update Changelog:
This update has some great news: we have added other results like 3.Liga, Liga2 Cabovisao, Jupiler Pro League and Lega Pro Prima and Seconda Divisione.
Some of the championship, like England, Italy, Germany, Portugal and Netherlands, have the winner of the playoffs/playout replicated, so you'll have the real 14/15 seasons in the 99% of the cases (the method work 9 times on 10).
You will also find two files for Italy, one named Risultati Reali Italia (recreate the 13/14 results "on field" without deduction for amministrative reasons - this can be used starting on July 2013 or May 2014) and one named Campionato Italiani 2014 REALI (some teams have been swapped or suffered deduction points for recreating the 14/15 start of the season - The Serie D is unlocked, but it has to be removed when the game is created, before the season update)

FMonline Forum Hero Indian Super League

$
0
0
FMonline Forum, an hotblooded italian FM community, can announce the release of the brand new Hero Indian Super League database! You can now play with the legends of football moved in India like David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero, Marco Materazzi, Fredrik Ljungberg, Robert Pires and many more!

But let's do a deep explanation of the file:
We have tried to reproduce the rules in the best way possible, searching a way to recreate situations that can't be done with the editor.

In this file you will find:
  • The Hero ISL, with games played between October and December in a round-robin group plus final playoff
  • 8 brand new teams, with all the players announced on 4/10
  • Friendship and affiliations with european and ISL teams recreated (like Pune-Fiorentina, Atletico Kolkata-Atletico Madrid,..)
  • Missing Players recreated (Pires, Materazzi, Ljungberg,..)
  • I-League fully playable, with Real Results for 2013 season and the 2014 with the new rules (2 relegation spots and new dates)
  • Federation Cup, Osian's Durand Cup and Super Cup playable with I-League teams
  • An exclusive graphic pack with ingame kits and a logo pack with the new FMonline Forum logos style!

To recreate the amount of indian players going from a team to another, we have set some transfer rules:
  • Standard Transfer Window from 1/7 to 1/9
  • Foreing Transfer Window (from/to ISL) from 1/9 to 25/9
  • 3 months loan Transfer Window from 25/9 to 10/10
  • Adjusted wages values and reputation for having a more realistic situation for wages
  • To improve the loans, we have set the option "loan players if you have a little of number of players"

There is also a rule for foreigner:
  • You can have max 6 foreign players on the field and 6 on the bench, 3 subs with 12 players on the bench. In this way, teams have to keep in squad indian players

INFO:
You can have the best from this file in 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons; from a some point of the game, ISL reputation will drop because it don't have spots for Asian Cups and the I-League sides don't have squads for have good results in the cups.
The file is fully compatible with the FMonline Forum Transfers Update and the FMonline Forum Real Results & Fixtures

5-2-3 Roma

With this formation I won Serie A and came second in Italian Cup in my first season with Roma with no additions to the team. Basically I used LVG's tactics and modified it a little so it suited my players.

When the team gets used to this system they start to create a lot of chances, mainly from right and left flank, and defense becomes solid.

For this formation you will need fast wingers, so they can break through defenses, fast wing backs with lots of stamina and a creative striker with good finishing. I also recommend use of more experienced defenders with high work rate and teamwork.

Customization is Manager's best friend

$

We're getting closer to Football Manager 2015 release and after the official new features video from Sports Interactive, it could be the right time to talk about the game recent past, present and future.

I'm not particularly bothered about motion capture, moustaches or 3-D stadiums, the game key concept should be customization, or freedom to play if you prefer, this is what I'm asking for and this is where SI recently failed.

It's clear to me that FM14 was a point of no return for the game, sliders are gone and without them tactical options have been hugely reduced, early impressions from this year game confirm that.

Basically the game is dramatically changing from a "sandbox" football simulator, where everything was allowed, to a puzzle where you're supposed to play the game "properly" following courses charted by SI coders; free will is definitely a thing from the past.

Why?

The word realism has been repeated like an old mantra here, "we did that for realism" this is the answer I often received when moaning about the lack of tactical options in FM 2014, but I'm still not convinced.

The ambiguous chase for realism has nothing to do with limiting customization, is simply the wrong answer to a real problem: bugs and match engine exploits.

If you can't iron out exploits writing a better code then you simply oblige the players (managers) to make some pre-determined choices that won't hurt the match engine, this seems to be SI developers master plan lately.

The whole "new roles" thing goes in that direction.

New roles are a massive joke and mean nothing to me, if I decide to employ a right midfielder on the pitch I should be allowed to set him as I like, without greyed out options in the tactical panel, I could mould him as a defensive winger or as a wide midfielder but my own definition of defensive winger could differ a lot from SI football experts one, FM 2014, and probably FM 2015 will be even worse, gives you very limited chances to do that.

The same thing happens when a single team instruction changes several settings, to make an example if you choose to adopt an attacking mentality, width, defensive line, closing down and passing length will be modified as well, of course you could try to tune your tactic adding other team instructions but probably the final outcome will be in a total mess, mainly cause you have no visual reference that could hep you to know and understand your post shouts global settings.

More control? More realism?
None of the above.
We're losing the ability to play the game as we like, surely a big loss.

Top 3 Euro 2016 Qualifiers to watch this week

Qualification for France 2016 is starting to take shape with most nations in action twice over the next few days. It's too soon to be booking your tickets for the Euros but you can still watch some of the best international football live. Check footballtickettrade.com for the best deals and read our previews below to see which matches are worth attending.

Here's a look at the top three fixtures you may want to watch:

Estonia vs England – Sunday 12 October
England made a winning start last month with a 2-0 victory in Switzerland. On Sunday Roy Hodgson's side will be looking to maintain their 100% start to qualification following their 5-0 win over San Marino on Thursday.

The England old guard is no more and the future of the Three Lions depends largely on the youngsters on show in Tallinn on Tuesday. Danny Welbeck is showing that he can score at international level but can the strikers get any help from their midfielder? Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and Jack Wilshere get another chance to see if they can score for their country.

There are no household names in the Estonia side. Gone are the days of Mart Poom. A handful of you may know of Blackpool's Sergei Zenjov, Augsburg's Ragnar Klavan or former-Derby County youngster Henrik Ojamaa. Otherwise, like us you're probably seeing most of these players for the first time.

Estonia have only conceded one goal in their first two qualifiers but have not come up against anyone ranked as highly as England so far. The visitors are certainly expected to win this but can Hodgson's side put in a convincing performance for a change?

Iceland vs Netherlands – Monday 13 October
Since Guus Hiddink replaced Louis van Gaal as the Netherlands' head coach it has been an unconvincing start from the side who finished third in the World Cup. The Oranje had to come from behind to beat 10-man Kazakhstan late on in Amsterdam. That was after some calamitous defending saw them lose in the final minute to the Czech Republic last month.

Iceland top this group with the Czech Republic thanks to 3-0 victories at home to Turkey and in Latvia. The Scandinavians reached the playoffs for qualification for the 2014 World Cup, and have been knocking on the doors in qualification for the past couple of tournaments. Few household names but a couple of attacking players that are well-known - Gylfi Sigurðsson (Swansea City), Kolbeinn Sigþórsson (Ajax) and Alfreð Finnbogason (Real Sociedad).

Can the hosts provide a tricky test for the Dutch who don't want to be dropping anymore points this early? Or can Guus Hiddink and Ruud van Nistelrooy get more out of his team who have struggled to create many good opportunities in their opening two matches?

Denmark vs Portugal – Tuesday 14 October
Group I could throw up a surprise in qualification. Portugal were the favourites before a shock 1-0 home loss to Albania last month. That's really opened up the group. Denmark are a respectable nation who got off to a winning start against Armenia. Armenia themselves did a decent job in their attempt to qualify for this summer's World Cup. And Serbia are not to be overlooked in this group either.

Portugal could really do with avoiding defeat in this one to prevent any nerves. Cristiano Ronaldo is firing on all cylinders for Real Madrid – he's always worth watching. Portugal's next two qualifiers after this are at home so whatever the result on Tuesday, they can certainly target six points afterwards.

Denmark could certainly throw the group wide open by beating Portugal. Even a draw for the Scandinavians will maintain their three-point lead over the Portuguese, but their next two qualifiers are both against Serbia and they won't be the favourites to pick up maximum points from those games.
